I love that the title of this post is a well known acronym in our family...VFC. For those of you unfamiliar, it's the annual event known as Vaughn Family Christmas. Typically the weekend before Christmas, the Vaughn family gathers for some time honored traditions and good old fashioned family memory making at it's best! This year VFC was at our house, and we had a great time. A pretty relaxing time, actually, which hasn't always been a hallmark of our family time together! ha! Our kids absolutely loved the time together, and the adults had a great time visiting, cooking, and just hanging out (in between scheduled activities!). I'm so thankful to be a part of this special family!

Nana and Papa Vaughn with 7 of their 10 grandkids (Lubbock Vaughns with their 3 girls weren't with us).

We traditionally have a "kissing picture" when we take the VFC pic...this is the 2010 rendition! Enjoy!

Papa caught licking the batter of an icing bowl....oops!

Little cousins playing light brite together...

One of my dearest friends (and the best sister in law ever!!)

"Cookies with Kendra" is a tradition of making / icing / or painting cookies that happens most years....but has been known to get "cut" on occasion (and that's ok!)

These two were more into playing on their Dad's iphones than in making cookies at the moment.

Lael is wanting to go by her legal first name, Kadi, which is the last syllable of her birth mother's name - Lokadi. I love it. We spent all weekend saying, "Lael...I mean Kadi!" Love this cute girl! She is one of Brady's favorite people in the world.

In our "Sack Game" where someone reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas" while we pass around sacks that have a bill of some sort, Kelly and Colby were the big winners.

Cookie decorating time!!

Gift exchange...Brady gives his Nana a special present he picked out for her at the church Christmas Market.

All 3 boys got new Tech shirts - Cool!!!

The Lubbock Vaughns sent a gift for each of the kids - they all got Sonic gift cards!

Tori helped Uncle Donny ice his traditional carrot cake this year...

Lovebirds at one of our meals...

We always had a meal of Pizza and Sonic drinks - genius! One of my favorite things about VFC! What I really love is that Donny has a list of what we ordered in the past (how many pizzas and what kind) saved...so we can just place the same order the next year. ;)

Donny and I went to Benin in 2004 to visit Randy and Kelly and met Kadi Lael's birth parents. I pulled out my scrapbook from the visit and had a sweet time sharing the pictures and some stories with my little niece.

Brady's favorite Christmas present - a little dalmation that makes all sorts of cute sounds. And it has a bone...what could be better?!?

Another tradition...Kid's Scavenger Hunt. Each kid has a sack with their name on it that is hidden in the house. We play the "hot/cold" game until the kid finds their sack, then waits for everyone else to find theirs, then opens them at the same time. So many fun traditions....didn't even include a picture of adult Chinese (Wrappin' Santa as a gag gift that shows up every year - Nana got it this year!), driving around to look at lights, the list goes on and on!
