This first month of 2009 has flown by. It's been a good month . . .one full of some changes in our daily lives, but still a good month. I started doing some contract work for the school district we live in, and moved to a part time status (with benefits) from a PRN status (no benefits paid hourly) at my current job at Our Children's House. More work scared me a little, but the Lord has been very faithful - I have a wonderful husband who does a great job running carpool, doing spelling reviews, and even cooking dinner on my long days. My contract work is only 5 minutes from home, and it's while Brady is napping and the big boys are in school. And it's very helpful for our family financially during this transition time with Donny's work. God is more than good. He blows me away with His provision. He gives us the strength to do what we need to do, and I'm thankful for that. His provision in the details has been amazing to be a part of!!
Our little family had a fun time together on New Year's Eve going out to dinner and sitting down to talk about some goals we each had for 2009. The big boys want to accomplish things like riding their bikes with no training wheels, playing new sports, some other cute little things. I want to get caught up in their scrapbooks (which means more time with my scrapbook buddies!! Oh yea!) We all have some good "goals", but our best one is to learn how to be more like Jesus in 2009. We pray He will be what we seek every day - that we will wake up ready to be with Him, ready to learn about His character, and we pray we will have Him constantly on our lips as we walk through life.
Here's some fun family pics from our New Year's Eve together . . .taken by timer or by Tyler! Blessings!!

We don't do midnight with kids at our house . . .sorry, but it's just not worth it when internal alarm clocks go off at 7am no matter what time you went to bed!! So, creative DV found a site on the computer that had a countdown with fireworks so we could celebrate the New Year then go to bed at just about the normal time! ha!
