Halloween fun...

What a strange almost sad Halloween this was for this Mama! Two of my boys this year decided they were too old (or too cool??) to dress up and trick or treat. Oh my....how did that happen? Tyler said he just didn't want to see all the creepy costumes (dont' blame him on that one) and wanted to pass out treats to kids at our house, and Colby declared that he had seen pictures from years past and decided he just looked ridiculous. Whatever. So....my lone trick or treat guy, Brady, went out with Annie and Spencer and had a great time. And looked cute too...not ridiculous!! ha!

I love that Boo man made dressing up easy for this mama...he wanted to be "Boom Stick" (aka Nelson Cruz). Done! No shopping required!

I think Tyler was happiest hanging out with Allison when we got home from Trick or Treating!

It's Fall, Y'all...

I really love fall....like a LOT! Every season has it's fun activities, smells, sights, memory making events, but fall makes me VERY happy. Fall fests around Halloween time make me happy (not as happy as warm coffee and fall leaves, but happy). We went with our Vaughn cousins to the neighborhood Heritage Church of Christ Trunk or Treat and had a ball. We also went to the Met church's Fall Fest on a Sunday night the night before Halloween...and it was HUGE!! A few of Colby's baseball teammates attend that church and had invited him. We saw them there, but Colby stuck with his family for the most part. Fun times!

This was the best...scarecrow woman who went stone - she wouldn't even BLINK. Makeup was impressive and she would just go into stone scarecrow mode. I found myself just staring at her...
These two are such good buddies!

Happy Birthday PawPaw!

We loved getting to have Nonny and PawPaw in town for PawPaw's birthday this year! We love celebrating our PawPaw...he makes life so fun for all our kids. We had fun all weekend, but really loved going out to the Hall Pumpkin Patch together...minus Colby who was at a friend's birthday party.

This girl knows how to pose....her brother, not so much! ha!

Tyler tried to join in the fun on the ride ons....then decided he should just stick to helping out cousin Spencer instead! Good choice, big boy!!

I love how these two are such good buddies....Spencer loves his "Ty-u", and the feeling is mutual!
I wonder how that light bulb did going through the digesting track there, Mr. Goat?
Wrestling the boy down for a picture - never a good result! ha!

Timbercreek Homecoming Parade...

Our feeder high school, Timbercreek, had it's first ever Homecoming Parade this year. The high school a couple of years ago with freshmen and sophomores only, so this was the first graduating senior class. They invited all their feeder schools to be in the parade, and Bette Perot had a small group who walked to parade route. We all went up there - and were a little disappointed that TMS (Tyler's school) didn't have any kind of group that gathered!! Bette Perot had lots of kids who came out, but no float....several of the other schools had trucks with fancy floats all decked out for the parade. Oh well! We just all walked with Bette Perot and showed our Falcon spirit! It was fun...a little tiring since we walked the whole thing, but fun! I'm thinking this next year TMS and BPE will be more prepared with what a float could be like! ha!

Tyler's 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Wyly, was there with Bette Perot - we LOVE her!

Brady and a Kindergarten friend, Sebastian, were the caboose boys for the BPE group - little legs just can't cover as much ground as fast as big boy legs!
And the legs gave out! Piggyback Mommy to the rescue!!
And this is what happens on Alta Vista when it gets closed off for a parade...poor people. I felt bad for them!!
I love these little Patriots!

ACU Homecoming...

Our family took a fun day trip to Abilene to visit the ACU campus for Homecoming this fall. Yes, we had games that were scheduled for the older boys, but taking a break for a family day was a GREAT idea for us and perfect timing! We had a great time enjoying the Homecoming parade, Homecoming Chapel, touring the new Physical Education facility, walking around campus, having lunch with friends, and enjoying the football game. It is so fun to tell stories to the boys about our college days...and fun for us to remember special times that we experienced at ACU.

Gamma Sigs float was pretty cool...and Donny is always proud of his "boys"! :)

Hysterical - the guy at the top of Texas is oil coming out of an oil derrick!
Our family before chapel
We were pretty impressed with these shrubs...that's Colby in the front
Donny and his favorite professor - Dr. Rick Lytle
And look who we found there...our Colbster friend! He was our boys' babysitter this past summer and a very sweet friend.

One of the basketball gyms in the new athletic building.
Fun times at the game! Brady needed an ACU shirt, and conveniently they were selling them AT the game (nice marketing strategy!). I loved the freebies they gave out for everyone, too (foam fingers and clappers and pompoms).
Can't forget the "awesome" days of pledging when you had to be at the games holding up your clubs letters the whole time...wearing ridiculous outfits....with no makeup...ugh.

Pumpkin Patch Fun...

At OCH we have "team building" activities once a month. This month, Liz and Chandra planned for us to go to the Hall Pumpkin Patch. We had a GREAT time...it was a little on the windy side, but fun! Brady was my date for the evening - it was "Switcheroo" weekend, and we had a good time playing at the patch then getting some Starbucks treats afterwards. I am blessed with fantastic work friends!

Kara has a very special talent....
My crazy little Boo...

The Janbez family was all there!
Luke and Kelby Loveless are TOO cute!
Sarah and Kara got hungry while we were there...
