The Fantastic Spring Break Grandparent Tour...

Over Spring Break, we planned a grandparent tour to visit both sets of grandparents. Right after we finished Brady's birthday party, we loaded up in the car and headed out to Littlefield to spend some time with Nana and Papa. On Sunday, we all went to church with Gary, Toni and the cousins in Lubbock, then to their house for a fun family lunch. It was a sweet time to be with cousins and baby Lily!

 We spent Sunday through Tuesday with Nana and Papa, enjoying a cookout, helping Nana out around the house, playing games, and just having a good time. On Tuesday, Donny flew out to head back home and the boys and I headed south to Midland to be with Nonny and PawPaw. As soon as we got there, Colby started not feeling well....fever, sore throat and headache...so our first day was spent looking for a doctor that would see him and that our insurance would accept. Not fun. Good news - our doctor's office from home ended up calling us in a prescription to treat strep based on his past history and what was going around with family.

Monica and her kids drove over by that afternoon to join us by the time Colby finally had antibiotics going, and by the next day we were ready to play! The kids had a fun adventure to Nonny and PawPaw's work where they had fun "helping" Steve and Pawpaw while I had a great lunch with my forever friend, Jennifer Siemer. We all met back up at Dennis the Menace park where the kids enjoyed a picnic and playing. It was all good until Brady spent a little too much time on the tire swing for his stomach's liking...and up came his nice Taco Villa lunch! Note to self: don't take this kid on any roller coasters or spinning rides anytime soon. That ended our fun there, so back home we went!


We enjoyed meals out on Nonny and Pawpaw's back patio, a high school baseball game, playing the Wii on their big screen TV, and just hanging out. It was a relaxing, fun family time for sure and the boys and I had a sweet "grandparent tour" for our Spring Break adventure!

Happy "Bird day" Brady...

Our littlest man celebrated his 6th birthday on March 8th. This was probably the biggest party we have ever had for one of our boys...he REALLY wanted to invite his whole Kindergarten class, and since we were renting the game room areas at our Southlake Church campus, we decided we would do just that! It was a great place to have a party for a bunch of busy 6 year olds! Brady is a huge fan of the iPhone app, "Angry Birds", so it quickly became the theme for our party. Donny designed the invitations, Mom and Dad printed it at Rainbow Press, and I was in charge of decorations.

We played Angry Bird games, complete with our own version of the game using theraband that I "borrowed" from work, bean bags, and blocks from our house. Then we had an egg hunt...looking for the golden eggs that the pigs stole from the birds (just a way to get candy junk into their goody bags!). We had cupcakes and ice cream cups, and even had some "bird food" (pretzels and cheese it's) in case our little guests needed a salty snack.





All the boys started off pretending to be the "angry birds" and they shot at the blocks. The girls were pretending to be the "pigs" and were at the end where I was taking pictures from. They waited until a boy knocked down the block tower, then worked together to build it back for them to shoot at again. Once all the boys had a turn to shoot, the girls became the birds and the boys became the pigs. Fun!


Boys decided to just lay down and take a break on the field while the girls tried to shoot...they would spring back up when the tower got knocked down and build it back up!

I think Brady had a blast...and that's all that matters. Donny and I are just thankful we are done with party season for another year! ha! There is nothing as fun as watching your child be celebrated and honored by others, and we sure enjoyed meeting a lot of his school buddies and their parents. Now, how can my baby boy really be 6 years old???
