Give me Your Man Card....

Our church has been running some advertisement videos for the upcoming Men's Retreat - the name of the retreat is"Keep Your Man Card" and they've spoofed off the movie "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" where the mall cop segways around the mall patrolling for violators. Hilarious. But Cary Branscum in the RHCC videos featuring some of my favorite men in the world doing not so manly things...even MORE hilarious. The boys have LOVED the videos at church. They talk about them all the time. So this morning, you can imagine their excitement when the one and only Mr. Branscum appeared while service was going on riding the segway!!! The "man card cop" (Vaughn boy title) was about to enter the auditorium and Donny asked him if he would take a picture with the boys. He was happy to oblige, the boys were excited, and there you go. A picture with our new hero.

A very small, poor quality picture, but that's what a cell phone pic does here...oh well.

So then at lunch, Brady starts telling us this long, drawn out story (happens in our family all the time) about seeing the man at the church....and he says, "Give me your gift card!" We died. Too cute.

Then, a friend of Colby's passed by our table, saw Colby sitting in the chair that had my purse on the back of it, and asked Colby with a grin, "Hey - is that your purse??" Colby giggles...and then Tyler says (in a low, gruff voice), "Colby, give me your man card!!" LOVED it!!!

Just had to document the funny happenings in the life of a mama with three cute, precious and yes, very witty little darlings!!

Now, watch this video below to get to know the REAL "Man Card Policeman!"

It's been a while....

It's Friday afternoon....home with the kids...unmotivated to be productive around the house (which is screaming at me to clean it!)...so I'll post a quick blog post instead!

January is usually kind of, well, BLAH after all the rush and beauty of Christmas. This January wasn't really blah - it was fast paced and full and tiring. We've all been a little under the weather - nothing real terrible, just the sniffles, coughs, sinus stuff, but just all feeling a little drained I think.

I picked up a lot of extra hours at work to help cover for a therapist on her honeymoon (yay Natalie and Spencer!), which is good for the family budget, but I forget how difficult it is for me to work 4 days a week, not come home until supper time, and still keep up with kids homework, house stuff, etc. How do you full time working Mom's do it?? Hats off. You are amazing. Or very tired. Or both!

Last weekend, my parents were able to come in for a fun weekend with us. We were thankful they came late Thursday night so we could have Friday as a "play day". We chose the Ft. Worth Zoo - the big boys were in school, but the little ones loved it (and so did we!). Here's some fun pics from our time together:

Brady "roaring" at the lion, who had been roaring all day like I've never heard a lion do before!!
Spencer thought the birds were pretty neat!

This REALLY made me laugh hard. Especially when the bird kept coming back over and over to Mom's head!!
Notice B is leaning away from the bird just a tad? Yea, he was a little skittish of those birds!
Mama's little snuggly koala bear. Love him.

We haven't had a family picture all together since...oh, I don't know, maybe since before Annie was born?!?! We wanted to at Christmas and just didn't get it done. On Sunday, we were having lunch, everyone was dressed, in pretty good moods and awake, so I declared, "We need to take a picture!!!" Everyone jumped up, and in about 10 minutes we had this great picture! Thank you, self-timer button - who needs a real person to make 5 kids and 6 adults look at the camera at the same time?? Not this crew!! ha!

Blessings - I'm off to be productive now!

Just a few more from Christmas...

I got pictures from my sister's camera today and just had to post a few more from our family Christmas...
I love these two little ones together...notice that Brady is sitting in a PINK Bumbo seat reading Spencer's new baby book. To Annie. Who hangs on every word he says (and usually repeats it right back to him, or says, "No!" She even has her legs stuck out straight like Brady.
I could EAT HIM UP!!

I mean, seriously - do babies get any cuter???
This pic should be titled "gratefulness". My parents surprised us big this year! BIG, huge, really big.
Need I say more? Too much cuteness in one house!! Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of family.
